Editorial Standards & Corrections

Accuracy

We verify facts before publishing and rely on primary sources wherever possible: official records, court documents, public statements and data. When we use reporting from other outlets, we name them.

Fairness

We seek out relevant perspectives and give people a chance to respond to significant claims about them.

News vs. analysis

News stories report facts. Pieces offering interpretation are labeled Analysis.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and note the correction at the end of the story with the date. To request a correction, email news@burnvoc.com with the story link and details.

Independence

We do not accept payment from political campaigns or parties for coverage.
